Completed in 2020, Wicked Warren is a striking example of adaptive reuse in downtown Warren, Pennsylvania, transforming an early 1900s building into a vibrant dining and brewery destination. The project celebrates the character of the original structure while reimagining it for modern hospitality.
The building’s narrow footprint presented a unique design challenge, requiring careful planning to accommodate seating, a welcoming bar, a compact kitchen, and necessary restroom facilities—all within a constrained width. Inscale Architects embraced these limitations, creating an intimate, atmospheric environment that feels both efficient and inviting.
The lower level houses a brewery, adding depth and energy to the overall experience. Inside the main floor, existing plaster was removed to reveal exposed masonry walls, allowing the raw historic texture to become central to the aesthetic. Thoughtful acoustic treatments and curated finishes enhance comfort, creating a warm, lively setting without overwhelming noise.
The design incorporates a small yet highly efficient kitchen anchored by a wood-fired pizza oven, enabling a focused, high-quality menu that aligns perfectly with the venue’s craft-forward identity. The result is a destination that blends history, craftsmanship, and contemporary dining culture in one memorable space.
