What began as a vacant big-box store was transformed by Inscale Architects into a vibrant hospitality and event destination now known as the Chautauqua Suites & Expo Center. The design wraps the existing structure with a 90+ room hotel, giving the massive footprint new architectural definition while maximizing the efficiency of the original building.

Inside, the former retail floorplate was reimagined as a flexible exposition center, supported by a fully renovated commercial kitchen, bar, and restaurant. These interconnected spaces create a dynamic venue capable of hosting conferences, banquets, trade shows, and large regional events.

From concept development through construction, the entire project was completed in just 12 months—a testament to Inscale’s ability to navigate complex adaptive reuse challenges while meeting an ambitious schedule. The result is a destination that blends hospitality, dining, and event functionality into one cohesive, revitalized complex.
